Frontier Technology, Inc. (FTI) is seeking a full:time Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, talented, and diverse individuals. Primary work location is in Chesapeake, VA or Huntsville, AL, in support of a customer based in Port Hueneme, CA.
:The candidate responsible for this position is expected to support a team of systems engineers and system analysts in support of the Navys enterprise Product Lifecycle Management Integrated Decision Environment (ePLM IDE) solution.
:The candidate will work to ensure that all ePLM IDE systems engineering requirements under Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) technical authority are installed, configured, and maintained as required per applicable directives and instructions.
:Support the ePLM IDE Systems Engineering (SE) IPT, responsible for identifying and coordinating weapon system architecture and requirements mapping to ePLM IDE configuration capabilities.
:Identify and apply Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools to support definition and refinement of capability suite interfaces and architecture artifacts.
:Identify and support implementation of systems engineering policies, procedures and operating instructions for cyberspace systems.
:Leverage FTI small business innovation research (SBIR) analysis methods and tools to enhance engineering processes and provide more rigor to Business Case Analysis/Course of Action (COA) assessments.
:Serves as a Systems Engineer to support the requirements analysis, testing, installation, and configuration of ePLM IDE hardware and software infrastructure in an effort to enable PLM analytics capabilities in new hosting environment.
:Support enablement of a standard process for exchanging ePLM IDE technical data for weapon systems, resulting in an automated interface with the Navys ePLM IDE suite of capabilities.
:Assess and review proposed PLM software solutions in correlation with current and/or emerging DoD/Industry PLM principals.
:Perform/document architecture design, and integration requirements gathering and analysis for integration of capability deployments into Navys ePLM IDE solution.
:Support design/definition of business rules for exchange of Navy system data sets between PLM technologies and ePLM IDE.
:Support development and execute test and evaluation (T and E) process(es) for proposed integration of software solutions into the Navys ePLM IDE solution
:Ensure solution compliance with technical specifications and standards.
:Support software configuration management processes to include source control management.
:Diagnose technology interface issues to resolve problems and correct to minimize outage timeframe; document network problems and resolution for future reference.
:Ensure data security, integrity, and validity.
:Work closely with colleagues across all IPTs to meet all technical and functional requirements.
:Assist with the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process and reviews of CAD models/3D drawings for correct data and attributes
:Support weapon system implementations into ePLM IDE environment, including CM processes, ePLM IDE requirements mapping, data migration, ETL planning, and upload of baseline data to product structures.
:7:10+ years actively working as System Engineer (background in IT, specifically Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and/or MBSE)
:Experience working in conjunction with network engineers and familiarity with network engineering principles; at least 2 years in a DoD environment is a plus
:Experience participating in and/or leading the full spectrum of the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process for a DoD weapons systems program
:Familiarity with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and related architecture guidance.
