Job Description:/h3:
In this position, you will work with systems experts, program planning personnel, engineers, and operational personnel to create and maintain interactive electronic technical manuals in support of NAVAIR 4.11, associated DoD/Federal programs, and NAS Pax River. Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to work in an xml based proprietary authoring system used to update content.
Applicants must have a Bachelors degree with at least 1 years experience, an Associates in a relevant field as described earlier with at least 4 years experience, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 5 years experience. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen. The ideal candidate is organized, detail oriented, inquisitive, accepting of change, and able to adapt to changing schedules. Position may require non:local travel up to 10 of the time with less than 5 expected in a typical year.
Required Skills:
:Analyze information, develop source material, and consult/interview engineering and technical staff in preparing and editing documentation in support of multiple projects.
:Draft or edit documents including technical manuals, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), and related technical publications for compliance with DoD writing standards along with appropriateness in tone/voice for target audiences while applying Team/Project conventions.
:Demonstrated ability to draw and integrate from a broad range of engineering and logistics products based on COTS, OEM, and Government sources at both mature and maturing stages to develop draft technical manual(s).
:Demonstrated ability to identify source data conflicts and present recommendation for de:confliction.
:Desired experience working with xml tags and knowledge of how they work with related structures.
:Track content inputs on a complex level both to maintain change records and calculate percentages of content received.
:Ability to work with a geographically distributed team of integrated analysts, SMEs, developers, and systems architects.
:Excellent written and oral communication skills in both structured and unstructured media.
:Track action items, planning and coordinating events, and programmatic data calls.
:Actively support program meetings, conferences, and reviews including issuing minutes.
:Experience and strong desire to participate in the full project life:cycle from concept to delivery. This includes requirements gathering, developing project plans, architecting solutions and testing.
:Proven ability to work on multiple projects with separate timelines and varying levels of complexity.
Demonstrated experience must include at least 1 year experience in 1 or more of the following areas, experience in 2 or more desired, experience may be concurrent:
Authoring/Development (highly desired)
:NAVAIR or NAVSEA technical manual development
:IETM Development
:Software Documentation Generation
