Job Description:/h3:
GENERAL OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Embedded Software Developer participates in the entire development process including collaboration with clients, designing, coding, testing and delivering a successful solution.
This position is based in Chesapeake, Virginia with technical direction from local staff members and our software development teams in Germany.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Independently develops clean and efficient code based on specifications. Must have the ability to quickly pick up new languages, technologies, and frameworks.
Under direction from experienced software developers, works with the client to clarify and prioritize complex technical issues. Must be able to explain methods and concepts clearly.
Prepares design documentation. This includes writing and maintaining technical documentation to describe program development, logic, use cases, coding, and testing methodologies.
Troubleshoots, debugs, and improves existing software.
Integrates software components from other developers including third:party applications.
Assists in the preparation of test plans, test scripts, technical manuals, training material, reports and procedures.
Maintains knowledge of INITs products and related strategies. Frequent travel to Germany required.
Other duties as assigned


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering
This is an entry level position for new graduates or recent graduates with just a couple of years of experience in C++, Windows Embedded, Application Development, TCP/IP, UDP, XML, GIT Version Control.
Knowledge of J1708 automotive telematics protocol preferred.
Electrical engineering background a bonus.
Competent in critical thinking, problem solving, planning, organizing, decision making, communication, team work, and conflict management.
Must have a valid passport and be able to initially train with our staff in Germany for 2 to 6 months. INIT will provide all living expenses while training in Germany.
German language skills are NOT required
